Is she a nature lover?

Mother’s Day in Seattle offers an embarrassment of riches when it comes to outdoor beauty. 

A leisurely visit to one of the many beautiful gardens in the area (which will be particularly lovely this time of year) is the perfect way to spend some quality time with Mom.

• Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden – all the rhody beauty you can handle!
• Seattle Japanese Garden – a tranquil & beautiful urban sanctuary
• Bellevue Botanical Garden – restored woodlands, natural wetlands, and cultivated gardens spanning more than 50 acres
• Kruckeberg Botanic Garden – four acres of public gardens in a wooded setting, plus a nursery with a Mother’s Day plant sale
• If you’re up for a road trip South, visit the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens in Woodland for Lilac Days. This annual celebration of the lilac season ends on Mother’s Day each year!

If Mom’s a gardener, an outing to a local nursery will be her idea of heaven!

A generations-old Seattle staple, Swanson’s is the ultimate destination for plant shopping. With a lovely cafe inside, the two of you can take a little break when you need it to refuel for more! (Friendly FYI: weekends can get quite busy here, so be prepared!)

A day full of antiquing and thrift shopping in Snohomish could be the perfect way to spend some fun quality time together this Mother’s Day! With over 175 antique dealers, the city is filled with antique treasure troves, as well as unique vintage shops, and cute eateries…pus lots of historic charm!

Port Gamble is a great option for a day trip if Mom would be thrilled with a quaint town, assortment of small shops, a tearoom, and the perfect environment for a leisurely stroll near the water. The town’s old yellow post office building is now home to the quaint Port Gamble Theater…check to see if your visit lines up with one of their concert series or live theater performances!

For a cider flight and delicious bite to eat in a community-oriented gathering space, head Northwest from Seattle to visit Finnriver Farm & Cidery. With tasting tours and live music on the weekends, the cider garden and farm make a lovely setting to relax with the special mom in your life.
